Where Arts and Imagination Fuel the Mind
Individuals experiencing Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia may exhibit a variety of different behavioral changes as the disease progresses. Verbal communication skills may diminish early, but the arts - painting and drawing, music and dancing, seem to outlast the “thinking” skills. The Center for Artful Living of the Carolyn L. Farrell Foundation for Brain Health was created to bring people with dementia and their caregivers together for shared enrichment and wellness programs that engage their creative and artistic skills.
Jerry Devis, Executive Director, and Nadine Kodysz, Community Outreach Coordinator from the Foundation will present an overview of its arts programs which encourage socialization along with group support sessions. Learn methods to comfortably engage individuals with cognitive brain health challenges in interactive and socially driven experiences.
